Explore the secrets of ancient Egypt with an incredible Nile cruise from the capital of the great ancient empire (Luxor) to the land of gold (Aswan). Visit the charming pharaonic sites along the Nile as you sail between Luxor and Aswan, including Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, Valley of the Kings, Queen Hatshepsut Temple, Colossi of Memnon, Edfu Temple, Kom Ombo Temple, High Dam, Unfinished Obelisk and Philae Temple.

Itinerary:
Day 1: FRANCE / LUXOR
Upon arrival, welcome and assistance with customs formalities by our local representative, obtaining the visa then transfer (approximately 20 minutes) to the port of embarkation in Luxor. Welcome cocktail to meet your guide. Installation on board. Depending on the schedule(s) of the different flight(s): lunch and/or dinner on board. Night at the quay.
Day 2: LUXOR / ESNA / EDFOU (50 km)
Buffet breakfast. Departure for the visit of the prodigious temple of Karnak located 2.5 km from Luxor. Go back in time in one of the most impressive creations of ancient Egypt, sacred testimony of generations of pharaohs: its hypostyle hall of 184 giant columns and finely decorated with hieroglyphs, is forever famous since the filming of a famous scene from the movie "Death on the Nile"!
Buffet lunch on the boat. Free afternoon dedicated to navigation: the peaceful landscape of the banks of the Nile scrolls slowly... magical! During the afternoon: information meeting with your guide. Arrival in Esna around 4 p.m. at tea break time in the ship's lounge bar. Depending on the day and exact time of arrival, you can admire the large improvised floating market surrounding the boats waiting to pass through the lock. Dinner on board. Night of navigation to Edfu.
Day 3: EDFOU / KOM OMBO (180 km)
Buffet breakfast. Departure for the visit of the splendid temple of Horus in Edfu, this masterpiece of balance and architectural elegance is one of the best preserved sites in all of ancient Egypt, a fine example of Ptolemaic art from the Greco-Roman period. Return to the boat for buffet lunch. Free afternoon on the boat sailing to Kom Ombo.
Visit the temple of Kom Ombo located a few 5 minutes walk away: isolated on a promontory on the banks of the Nile, this unique temple in Egypt dating from the Greco-Roman era, brings together two superb sanctuaries, one dedicated to Sobek, the Crocodile God and the second to Horus, the Falcon God. Dinner on board. Night of navigation to Aswan
Day 4: ASWAN (50 km)
Buffet breakfast. Departure by air-conditioned coach to the Small and High Dams of Aswan regulating the floods of the Nile. Photo stops in front of these "pharaonic" achievements and their spectacular panorama on the immense Lake Nasser. Visit and shopping stop in a perfumery and in a Papyrus factory. Return to the boat for lunch.
Free afternoon at the quay to discover freely, by horse-drawn carriage or on foot, the peaceful city of Aswan, gateway to Nubia in Upper Egypt...picturesque! You can leave, in complete freedom and according to your desires, to discover the Nubian culture, its music and its traditional architecture, its islands, its monastery, its mysterious pharaonic sites and its Museum. Buffet dinner on board. Free evening in Aswan. Or optional with supplement of 45€/person: sound and light show of Philae, ancient place of worship dedicated to the goddess Isis.
Day 5: ASWAN / ESNA
Buffet breakfast. In the morning: free choice of discovery of the city or visit to the temple of Abu Simbel in honor of Ramses II and his wife Nefertari (optional: approximately €110 per person). Optional excursion to Abu Simbel (breakfast in the form of a packed lunch): after being transported by air-conditioned bus through the desert leaving early in the morning, discover the temple without a doubt the most impressive in the country. Saved from the rising waters during the erection of the Aswan Dam, the temple of Abu Simbel was dismantled and rebuilt identically 110 m higher, in 1965! Return by the same route to the ship for lunch served on board the ship. Free afternoon. In the evening, oriental buffet dinner and fancy dress! Night navigation to the Esna lock.
Day 6: ESNA / LUXOR (200 km)
Buffet breakfast. Day entirely devoted to the return navigation to Luxor: take the opportunity to relax on the upper deck of the boat and admire the unchanging spectacle of the feluccas gliding silently between the reeds, palm trees and mud houses scattered in the fields, with the immense desert beyond the banks of the river... captivating! Lunch and dinner buffet on board.
Day 7: LUXOR
Buffet breakfast. Departure for the left bank of the Nile: the Necropolis of Thebes, where the pharaohs from the 18th to the 20th dynasty were buried for nearly 5 centuries; visit the temple of Medinet Habu mainly the work of Ramses 3; optional with supplement: possibility of visiting the Valley of the Kings, possibility of visiting the temple of Hatshepsut (around €35). Visit to an alabaster factory. On the way back, photo stop at the famous Colossi of Memnon (2 18 m giants that once guarded the door of the Temple of Amenhotep III). Return for buffet lunch on board. Free afternoon: idea to discover the Luxor Museum (optional and with supplement of about 10 euros per person for entry only). At the end of the day, visit the Luxor Temple, our favorite, famous for its pharaonic statues, its walls decorated with hieroglyphs, the long avenue of sphinxes and the obelisk, the double of which stands on Place de la Concorde in Paris! On the way back, stop at a jewelry store.
Dinner on board. "Surprise" farewell party. To be completed by an evening visit, in the moonlight, with the Sound and Light show (optional with supplement of 45€/person to be booked on site).
Day 8: LUXOR / FRANCE
Cabins returned before 10am (subject to availability, courtesy cabins are available for evening flights). Suggestion: if your return flight times leave you free time, take advantage of it to go shopping. Transfer to the airport, then flight to France. (We would like to point out that depending on flight times, your return may also be very early).
You can also complete your cruise with a week's stay in the Red Sea with the hotel of your choice, contact your travel advisor!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
For logistical reasons, since 01/01/08, the boats are moored outside Luxor. Possibility of reaching the city center of Luxor by taxi (with supplement).
